Power LED's - ZX475

I'm just bench testing a few amps I have on the shelf over here.
When I run a ZX475, it functions perfectly - overload LED on power up and then it distiguishes, the motherboard red LEDS come on and the blue power tri-lites come on, sort of. The tri-lites are not very bright and seem to follow bass passages like a light organ. Zat normal? Please advise.

Hey Bruce,
How big is the power supply your using to test the amp ? The flickering is usually caused by current starvation of your 12 volt supply. Not a issue with the amp usually...
As for dim purple leds well the sell them for $3.00 each at PG I just use blue leds and change the resistor unless original parts are needed by the owner.
I just can't bring myself to pay $3.00 for a $0.02 LED.
You will find they have about 28 volts drop across them and this causes them to fail after a while. I change the current limit resistor to something in the range of 40K ohm and any super bright LED will work properly with about a 8 volt drop across all three of them like most makers spec for these LEDs..
I get very little rework after changing the little current limit as they seem to live forever afterwards....C :)
