should i mount the mids ib in the stock door location or would it sound better with a hole cut in the door panel and top/front mounted ib or with one of those speaker baffles that seals the back off like it is in a mini enclosure, and using that in the stock location or mounted on the panel?

i used it plain old IB and it sounds great

IB is OK, but sealed would be even better.

For those on a budget.....

A sour cream or cottage cheese type plastic container (same diameter as the basket), lined with insulation then used as a "cup" in the cavity behind the speaker would improve speaker response. Use a bead of silicone between all mating surfaces and to seal the tiny slit needed to run the wires through. These containers have a nice lip for sealing. I'll post pictures when I get home. I have a prototype on my bench.

i have had these new in the pack for about 7 years, just wanted to finally use them. wanted more midbass and was not sure how the rsd would play in an enclosure.

it seems to play just as well IB, sealed didnt seem to do much in my application.

I used some plastic "cups" similar to the container bruce mentioned. I added a ton of modelling clay around them as per dedlyjedly's suggestion and they rip... however I haven't heard them play IB so I can't comment.

not foam, they are rigid plastic. bought them from sircut sh*tty years ago.

oh okay. those should be good. you may still want to add some mass to them with some sound deadener or some non-hardening modeling clay.
