futureshop calls me to say they have the car all apart and that my QX500.1d has a broken off condenser and that my 2 octane-r subs are fried and the lil wire connecting the voice cooil conecter is burn off..(my subs were dual voice coil too btw)
also my deck was missing some cables so this whole thing was a nightmare basicly..
so heres wht i did. i got a pioneer p6000ub deck and a mtx thunder dual 12's in a ported box hitting 600rms... my amp was fine tho i guess the condenser was for high freq.
so thats what im running with now hahaha what iv lernt:: never buy used if ur a newb at this and dont know shit lol

For our American brethren - Future Shop is a big box outlet here, like BestBuy. Their installers are the leftovers after the real professionals finished their hiring.
OK - So you took your car to FS to have them install used gear and they told you it was all broken and sold you new pieces? Classic. If they weren't broken, they made sure they were. The big markup is retail sales.
Next time, be sure to come here and get advice FIRST. Regardless of your knowledge level, we can assist and direct. We were all audio dumbasses at one time, even Fowler and Dubs.
The only way I can see surviving in this hobby is to learn to do your own work or have a really, really big fat wallet.

I disagree profoundly with this statement. But that's a debate for another thread.

All you need is the local meth head to grab you some new gear from the Midnight Swap Meet.
The only stupid question is the one thats never asked..........

well i bought it used and i never checked the subs to see.. well i dont beleive buddysayin future shop leftovers cz i had this 40 year old guy installin my stuff who opened the amp right infront of me and my dad cz heherd somtihng lose.. second he opend the subs right infront of us and one sub wasnt even wired in the box so theres no way he could of blew it and make the wires all burnt withtin 30 min of us leavin. and second he was willing to give me his own amp he had in his van that he showed me. so i just bought new subs that were in the box already(mtx dual 12) and i kept my amp that works fine.. but my deck was indeed missing its harness and my deck is old so i owuld have to order it and well i didnt qwanna buy more time at futurshop lol..
so ya theres my story i didnt get ripped off at future if anything they helped.. lukuly im getting all my money back from the other guy who sold me this shit all fried. hahahaha

I understand. You didn't convey that info in your first post. You got the most helpful FS tech in the umpteen that I've ever talked to. Check in here and do some reading so that sort of thing doesn't happen to you in the future.
Buddy returning your coin makes him a standup guy too. Kudos to him.
And was that a crack at 40 year olds?
Take you out for a canoe ride out behind the shed.... Damn punks.

You need a paddle to drive a canoe.
