which would you say had the best sq and why? i've got both and not sure which to fit, i've used the ax406a planty of times and liked it but all those inputs and output pots are a pain as are r-nets, maybe i'm geting lazy in my old age but the zpx looks easier to set up! one other thing i was suprised to learn is the zpx doesn't have an lpl facility

good job the outlaw does

it's taken me ages to hunt one down and it came with 2x 2metre zeropoint balanced cables too! the top has been gold plated but the gold is past it a bit and i'm struggling to polish it up, it's a black unit so easy to put back to standard with some black wrinkle paint, same for for the eq232 as well but that would need silk screaning again and i don't think pg do this anymore

these are the pics from the original ad, i'ne managed to buff the zpx2 up a bit but it's no where near where i'd like and the eq232 is covered in acid marks from fingers! maybe i should get JOMA to dip them for me

still i only paid £130 shipped for them which isn't bad at all.

Is the ZPX2 a rare item generally, or is it your (colored) edition that is hard to get.
I think I have seen the black and white ones before, and I do not feel that they are so hard to come by....?

mine is a black one that's just had the case plated, they're hard to come by in the UK, think mines the only one i've seen for sale in several years over here! i've got one now and no intension of selling it any time soon!

It does not appear that the original question was answered and now I have the same question.
I know that the ZPX2 has 24db xover slopes while the AX406a has 18db xover slopes, so it seems the zpx2 has the edge here.
It seems according to the manuals that both have 3-way xover capabilities, except for the pricing pages that were posted a couple of days ago state that the zpx2 only does 2 way? Until proven this is a push.
It seems easy to change the xover points on the zpx2 but more accurate on the ax406a, again a push or win depending on your style.
The ax406a seems to be more configurable, ie more outputs and configurations than the zpx2, so it seems the ax406a has the edge here.
What are some of the other differences? Acoustically? etc.
Thanks,
Stereo Junkie

24db slopes arn't necessarily better than 18db slopes, i'm using 12db slopes at the moment with my ppi frx-456.
the zpx2 is sysmetrical where as the ax406a is asymetrical (the ability to underlap and overlap x-over points, well at least on sub/mid outputs) i was shocked not to find an lpl facility on the zpx2 as well

the zxp2 is a 3way design but 2way if you want 48db slope on lowpass output...
it was the basic sq of the units i was interested in as i've had good results with the ax406a in the past.

Marko,
On that note then, it seems you have had time to play around with the two due to the age of the post, have you a preference between the two? Any information you can provide would be great.
Thanks,

One difference:
The ZPX2 was made for the ZPA amps, not soley.

i've still not played with the zpx2 as i'm too happy with the frx-456 to be swapping things out and messing things up...

Perhaps then a broader call out to any who have used the two devices?
