box/amp rack design question

Post by capitolj80 »

wussup dudes! so i've got a pretty good design in mind for my box/amp rack setup for my rsd12's. I'll runnin the 1200.1 and prolly the 500.4. I wanna put 2 boxes (facing rear) with (2) 11.25" wide shelves horizontily between them...one about 4" above the other. What i'd like to do is screw either side of the shelves to that side of it's adjacent box. However, i'm afraid this may transfer too much vibration to the amps. Am I right about that or is the slight "seperation" from the boxes good enuff?. My other option is supporting the racks with a back plate and putting a lil space between them and the boxes. The trouble with this is that it will severly limit my access to the amp dials and force me to have the amps protruding from the front of the boxes rather than flush. Cosmetically that wont be as nice, but tolerable if it will actually effect performance. So whada ya'll think...is my first idea good or should go with plan B? thnx

i think the plan A will work just fine. the difference between the vibration they will get when bolted that way VS a few inches away is surprisingly minimal.

just think how much vibration you still receive in your front seat!

kickass!! thnx homey :) I know that screwing the amps directly to the box is a no no, so I wasn't sure if mounting them to something that's connected to the boxes would be just a bad...guess not!! if it's good enuff 4 U then it's good enuff 4 me ;)
what if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?
