it depends on the bit-rate.

the USB port itself isn't responsible for the sound quality of the Sound.

same with the AUX if you are playing and form of digital music.

Personally, i think the usb connection in my car is the greatest thing ever its easy to load music on and off of and i can actually drop music from it to Friends PC's and upload songs from them(unlike an ipod)

try and keep your bit rate at 196 or higher and you should be golden.

from a super audiophiles point of view, no digital music can compete with the sound quality of a cd...but only the pickiest of the picky will hear the difference

CDs are digital...

In such cases where quality is of ultra-mega importance, you should just use a lossless compression codec such as FLAC or whatever other lossless tickles your fancy... assuming your deck supports that codec (that is, if we're talking about a digital-in such as a USB where you plug a flash drive or whatever).

With my iPod, I could use Apple Lossless (Lossless AAC, I think) but I'm not that anal... yet.
