Box recommendation for RsdC10

Post by oebb »

Hi,

I'm planning on putting a RsdC10 in my GTI, would you guys recommend a sealed or a ported box? the front stage is a 3-way system with a 8" woofer so it's only needed for the low-end.

I thought the PG recommended ported box looked really weird with a port diameter of only 1.5". Anyone has any better suggestions or does that small port really work without a lot of noise?

Hej hej!

Wow, with the excursion that sub is capable of, I would probably use a 3" port. Who recommends a 1.5"?? That is nuts.

The RSDc puts out some very nice low end, even if it is sealed. Porting it at a deep frequency will get you even more output however. I suppose it's up to your personal tastes.... If sealed is loud enough for you, then I would stay with that, if it isn't, then go ported (but with a bigger box and port).
