My Paypal has $$ waiting on a board. As well I'm in no hurry so mark me down for one.

Once again proving your value to this community. Thanks

I would be interested in a couple more remotes. I bought one of the originals from your ebay auction.

LED

Post by neurokrash »

Greetings,

Can you indicate the specifications or source for the LED and bass level pot on the original Bass Cube Remote? We've got two BC units, one with and one without a remote - and the one that has a remote seems to have a faulty LED and bass level control doesn't work sometimes. I'm hoping the one remote we have can be repaired.

This is the part listed on the original re-design, but I'm interested in the exact replacement:

VR1- 10K Linear Pot w/ push on, push off switch, Mouser # 12MDSP5830 $4.36 (Bass Level Potentiometer)

Thanks!

Neuro, I will look up the info for you on the pot once I am back in my house, but as for the LED, any standard led should be fine. White will not work, as they typically take ~45 VDC, but any 3-5v led should work perfect. The current limit resistor in the remote will keep almost any led safe.

Update for the rest of you. I put together the first remote, and got some pics of it. I mounted it in my old remote housing to make sure it fit, it does. The ones I sell will not have the mount.

Here are the pics:

Thanks - I understood that some LEDs can draw more current than others, so I didn't want to risk frying something in the Bass Cube. I think the bass level pot is actually working, but that my brother failed to read the instructions.

Thanks!

Thanks guys. Christian, no need to send anything. Glad I could help you out.

So, I have 3 remotes done so far. I am tackling them in my spare time. I am asking $25 + shipping for them this time around. That will include a cable for the remote custom made to any length w/in reason. Shipping will be ~5 in the US and includes the cost of a padded envelope (the damn things are actually quite expensive). This is the deal for our contributing forum members. I will have them on ebay as well, and will probably be asking $35 + ship on ebay.

If you sign up on this board because google led you here looking for a BC remote, well unless you plan on sticking around and being a valuable part of our community, then please just get one from me on ebay.

All you folks that have been PMing me, well, I hope you are keeping an eye on this thread like I suggested. The remotes are going first come first serve. I am not keeping a list, it is too much trouble. So, if you still want one of the first few, PM me and tell me the following:

How many?
What color LED?
How long for the cord?
Shipping Address?

I will hopefully have quite a few turned out this week. There should not be a big back up of people vs. remotes, but if you are dragging your feet after contacting me, I may not have one by the time you make up you mind.

Thanks guys! Hope you are all having a good holiday.

Later,
Jason

I'm off for the next 6 weeks. And in my field we're lucky that's all we're off.

I asked my wife to put a stamp on it and drop it in the mail when she went shopping on Monday-- Well, she got half right. She forgot the stamp and put it in the mail again. I fully expect it will be back at my house again tomorrow, and I will personally put the stamp on it and send it again.

Sorry!

I never realized just how bad the other (original) remote was for this thing. The freq dial didn't work as well either. It's been this way since the time I bought it used.

Many thanks J.

It's like I never had one installed till today. It actually helped pull the image of the bass up front. Sounds so much better now.

Awesome! I am glad it made it through, even w/o the extra postage. Did they charge you for the postage? If so, let me know and I will reimburse you.

Maybe they just realized that they are the ones who f-ed up and sold me the wrong postage, so they sent it anyhow...

What trick is that?

Hopefully nothing involving any smoke or fires?
