Thanks BF, I will re-draw the pcb in PCBexpress tonight. Maybe I can get some of these together for the guys in need.

Does anyone know if the pots are audio taper or linear? I am guessing the volume is audio taper and the freq is linear, but if you know off hand, chime in.

Later,
Jason

No, not unless they are labeled as such. You can check with a meter though if you get ambitious. Linear taper will measure from 0-10k ohms evenly over the whole range of the pot. Audio taper is a logarithmic curve that increases from 0-10k. A linear pot would be about half of it's rated value at half travel, a audio pot will not.

BF, the volume pot, if you haven't shipped it yet, can you tell me what the name or numbers are that are stamped on the top of the switch section? You can just see they are there in picture DSCN0187.jpg, but can't make them out, all of the other pictures of the top have too much reflection to read. I may have tracked the freq pot down already, gotta look through the manufacturers catalog.

Oh, and BTW, I went looking for my old cube remote, and it looks like I must have put the whole thing through the recycling program in my shop :D All I have left is the mounting piece...

Many thanks to Bfowler, I got it all figured out. See my other post about the remotes for PCB layout, component list, and parts pricing w/ part numbers.

Is that because of the body or the lens?

so can one not use the lpl cable/knob on a basscube if the one provided with it.. is not there.. ??

Posted: Wed Jul 16, 2008 12:33 pm
by Bfowler
you sure can, the cable is just the 4 conductor phone cord, and the acutal knob itself is the same on the LPL as the bass cube

so everyone that is in need of an actual basscube knob could jus use one of those cept not have the nice lil black metal to go with it??
