hi all, ive been lurking for awhile. im putting together a new system in my corrado, im going to be running 2 10in dual 4ohm rsdc subs in .47 cu ft sealed boxes, 5 1/4 nackamichi/vifa seperates, not shure if im running my buttler tubedriver or ti600 on mids, i was going to run a ti1000.2 on subs but i found a zpa0.5 on craigslist today with a bad channel for cheap

,it has a chromed case ...not shure how i feel about that

i took it out of its case and the boards all look good the caps arnt leaky nothing apears to have gotten hot or physically broke, i think it might be a easy fix, i have a multi meter and know how to solder if any of the amp smart people on here have any suggestions, when its running if you touch the speaker wires to the terminal on the bad channel you can hear it make a connection but no sound ...yes i tried switching the rca's

Welcome to the phorum! Do the four red LED's on the main board light up? If so, theres a good chance the problem is only minor. If not, there is def a problem.
If all LED's light up look at the crossover connector (where the ZPAXO or bypass card plugs in). They are notorious for having intermittent connections.

the leds for both channels light up the same, the left channel works fine, the right does not, when i hook it up bridged +on left, -on right it puts out sound but the same amount as just the left channel. when i had it hooked up at the guys house i bought it from i wiggled the bypass card and sound cut out for a second but nothing ever came from the right, i have it taken apart again right now cleaning a few years of grime off the chrome, when its back together i will try cleaning the contacts in the xover port and see if that works

The large cap on the right side is going bad, its probably a sympton of the problem.

The Corrado eh? I had 2 JL 12W0's in mine a long time ago. Absolutely loved it. Those 10's are gonna be sick, face em toward the hatch. FYI the Spoiler is a rattle source.

...going to be a min. before i can hook the zpa up to test it again
http://phoenixphorum.com/pioneer-deh-p8 ... t5935.html , i have a pioneer dex-p1r chilling in my toolbox that i will prob. install temp. i love the unit, but i also like to be lazy a listen to mp3s when im just idleing my system, i think i am going to buy one of the newer pioneers that also play mp4/aac, my question right now is will a audio control matrix line driver be a good match with the zpa, the matrix manual says it puts out a max of 13volts, ive never used a line driver before, 4volt pre outs has been enuf for me till now, thanks for the input so far
