old sherwood amps

i cant remember if they were good or not? im talking about the older ones

here is a pc from amp guts of the same series of amps but a different model, the case theme is the same the model ont he one in question is xa 5400, the pic is of a xa 5250, the local pawn shop has one for $30, looks to be in pretty good cosmetic condition

Hey Scott,
These are not the real old Sherwoods ( Kenwood like inside), but these have some fair guts. They are fairly rated by the parts used inside.
The pic looks like Earthquack outputs, and a 6 mosfet power supply probably Z44 50 amp fets.
So the power supply is good for 300 watts, and the amp is rated for 150 on Amp-gutz.
Inexpensive phenolic boards, but most pre chinese amp had these including the original sony ES stuff way back in 91.

I have seen alot worse, and it will probably give ok service especially for the money . I don't think you'll go wrong..

My friend for $30 bucks you cant go wrong. If you do I'll buy if just for parts :)
