not much more the 300. the xs2300 was PLENTY for it.
the response was pretty smooth, it go boomy/muddy on really low notes, but over all it was a pleaseing sub. played lower then say a mtx4000/kenwood tornado, but had about the same output.
great for the price

What kind of enclosure did you have it in? Did you like them better than the octane, or octane zr? Im questioning weather or not I will play with them now you mention them not sounding good on low notes..Bfowler wrote:not much more the 300. the xs2300 was PLENTY for it.

they were flatter then the ZR'rs which have an odd hump around 60hz.
they were deffinetly better then the octane-r's. if you ran them both at around 300 watts, the ryvals efficancy lets them be lounder...but you could throw way more power to the ZR's and get higher numbers overall.
personally i would still go with the ZR's....and try and EQ out that hump if it bothers you

If you go ryval go for the 10's they will perform very well for SPL in a ported enclosure. I had some specs somewhere's......on my PG lappy that is no longer available most likely as I don't have it on my FTP.
They'll give a huge peak in the 40-50 region.

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

Are you on a specific budget?
If you're not married to getting PG subs, THIS could be interesting. I don't know if he'll only let go of one of them but that could be a potential option.

10s are probably out of the option if I got the ryval way. Seeing as the 12s dont perform good on low notes, that doesnt leave a good impression on the 10s either... Im possibly looking at some other options like the jbl gto shallow subs. Did a few installs with them back when tweeter was still alive, but im not sure how they compare to the ryvals, or how well they do ported.. hmm This is a new experiment with me, as I usually get a bunch of heavy duty subs vs smaller ones, but im thinking im going to try 4 budget 12s. Seeing as this isnt going to be in my car all the time, for when I go racing, or to the track, ect.VW337 wrote:If you go ryval go for the 10's they will perform very well for SPL in a ported enclosure.
