LTD OCTANE REPAIRER

Post by jinglis »

a channel has blown on my limited edition phoenix gold octane amp

the channel is on the high pass section of the amp and is the left channel

i currently have the amp in the UK and noone can fix the problem and due to the nature of the amp i will be willing to ship it to the USA to have it fixed price dependant.

im hoping some1 on here can help with this, i should be able to get an engineers report of exactly what is wrong with the amp to help out the situation

thanks

Is it for sure blown? Reason I ask is because the pots on the xover for that line of amps tended to have issues. If you "play" with the pot turning it up and down it may temporarily resolve your issue.

You can do a search on this forum for more info.

well the amp is still at the place that was trying to fix it but when i get it back i will have a play but it only seems that one of the channels is down wouldnt the x over affected both channels?

also has anyone got the workshop mannuals for the ti400.2 amp as this might help fix the problem

Well then you have 3 options,

1. doc fosgate - Have his details
2. Cecil - Someone here will be able to provide them , I just did not note them the last time, both can repair your amp.
3. Sell me the amp , Marko will not mind ;) , I can collect

No seriously , let me know if u want details , some of these guys with good enough pics will tell u what is needed too

it might be easier/cheaper to source a zx400ti and swap the guts out. to ship that beast back and forth then pay for repairs would cost a pretty packet... that's what i'd do if i had the amp.

shipping will kill you, sending part of it might work out better for you, lots of padding

PG doesn't release the schematics on amps if that's what you are asking. Also yes the bad potentiometer can affect only one channel. Here are a few prior questions/posts on the Ti's. I believe RolandK who posted in one of the threads is a PG employee.

Marko, I thought the same thing...... :hmm:
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

Bertje, a Dutch forum member can also repair this amp for you.

Shipping it to Holland would be cheaper than to the US.
