MS2125 LEDs on board are red

Just replaced 2 fets on the board. IRFP054s
I do not know if the led's were red before since I always had the metal bottom on and after I replaced the caps several months back it would overload whenever I gave it any power. That is when the fet popped.

After replacing the two fets and cleaning/airing out the board/heatsink really good I decided to fire it up. Testing was done in stages this time, LOL

Lastly I hooked the rca's and speaker wires to the 2125 and it powered the speakers just like it used to.

My question is this. What are those led's on the circuit board for? Has anyone else experienced this after changing caps. For all I know they could have been red all the time. My mps2500 is the same way and I've not changed any caps or nothing on that amp.

Thanks guys,
Soth

yes, always been red! well at least on the earlier non TA's anyhow.

oh, irfp054's were mainly found in the ms2250's, irfp044's are the norm for ms2125's and also ms275's. i did have an ms2125 with 054's in it once, should of kept hold of it :?

Great to hear that Marko. Yep, I got mine back in 93 I believe.
Thanks marko for the info.

Have a good one man!

no worries! there should be 4 on the board, there's actually another 2 on the ms2250 and if they are lit up they are the "clip" indicators, the circuit is prone to going south on these amps and nothing to worry about, my ms2250 has one lit up and i must remember to try and fix it when i do a cap upgrade soon :)

LMAO, "threat", I meant "thread". It was a probably a year ago or so and I've just been absent from the boards for a bit. I can remember thinking, man, nice install and amps, but didn't ever get around to posting a comment about it though.

Later man,
