Ok guys so I did it! I installed them into my mazda 3 car and the installer and I were blown away at how loud/clean they are. Now I haven't got the chance to really experience the midbass yet. I am wondering now that I have installed the components I need everyones expert advice on tuning them to make them the best they can be.

Now with the first image it is of my headunit. Alpine 9855. Now the first thing says Sub, and you can change the freq. right now it is at 80hz. Then the level is at 0db and basically you can only lower it (ie. -6db). Then the last thing is called the Slope and u can configure it to FLAT -6db -12db but i dont really mess with that. I just leave it flat. What are the settings I should do for the fronts and the sub (Mids really dont matter to me).

Here is the setting I have called easy menu which is I have it set on Hip Hop.


Now last but not least is my actual 4 channel amp. Now this is confusing to me. Now I know its blurry cuz my phone is not that good apparently (2.0mp blackberry) But were looking at the bottom row and it says FLAT LP HP. How should I have this turned to the FLAT position and let my deck be the crossover so I can get better midbass from the front 6.5 or am i correct in having it set to HP? Then next to that is the Freq settings again and it says 32 and goes up to 320. Should I change or touch this at all? I have no idea. Then after that is bass boost. I think thats off or something. Then it repeats for the rear channel with FLAT HP LP ect. Then at the end is the input level (gain) and I just put that at about .25 it looks like. not quite vertical which would be .5 right? I dunno IM SO NEW! haha sorry for this long post hope you read through it all and help the NOOB!

The guys on the International Space Station rang up and said the couldn't read the settings on the crossover without binoculars.

Seriously, 750 pixels wide is plenty for in here. That size prevents the viewer from having to scroll for both the pic and the text.

No problem , just get them smaller so we can see them

Sorry im a noob but how and what program do I use to make them smaller? and what are the pixels that it should be? 700 x 700?

You can resize them in Windows or send them to photobucket and resize them there

Just go to the Microsoft website and download the image resizer for free. It works well and does not distort the image.

When you resize, keep the aspect ratio and just adjust the horizontal size to 700 pixels. The vertical size will change to coincide with the new horizontal size so, as mentioned, the pic will not be "stretched" out of proportion. The pic will be the same, only smaller.

I use a very dated version of ACDSee.

My first question would be do you plan on using the x-overs in the amp or the head unit. The setting you desribe with the head unit slope set to 'flat' means you are not imparting any x-over. It would have to be set to 6db or 12 db to kick-in the filter. The 'slope' indicates how quickly the filter attenuates the signal past the 'frequency' setting. ie; -6 db/oct or -12 db/oct. But if you are relying on the amplifier's x-over then this setting wouldn't matter.
