It looks like it's had some work done on it already. $25 is damn good price. Call Cecil and have him look at it.

That's kinda what I was thinking. The board looks great at first glance, well, at least to my untrained eye. The outside is horrid though, how the hell do I clean that up? :(

I would clean the face (where label is) and straighten the bent heat sink. Then when I would install it to hide the terminals and all you would see is the face. Face looks in OK shape to display just that.

But the fins!! Ugg, I wish I knew if they still sold replacement parts for these. :?

You must be really picky, cuz if you bend it back it will look ok. Just install it where you can't see it and your done ie.. under a seat. Besides it's the insides of that amp that really count.

I have a M-100 sink in storage that looks better than that, but it will have to be drilled to match the M-50.
It needs new caps in the supply, and the 12 volt side for sure. I like the crust on the gain controls
I would buy it for parts if nothing else. I have a M-100 board if something grave is needed.
Call PG on the 800 number and ask for parts help on the case and lid. I would not be hopeful as to them having any spares for this issue amp. But who knows maybe you will get lucky.

Can I fix it, Yes. :)

Well, here is the thing. I would honestly never use this amp. If I were to pick it up, I would send it to 1moreamp, have him fix it, clean it up the best I could and just re-sell it. If nobody else here wants it I'll probobly pick it up just to have, but if someone else wants it I'll take a pass. I'll put it in the Auctions of Interest forum for now.

Thanks for the help Cecil!!

up here, there's a m50 near mint for sale, for $165 asking price.
is that relevant to your question?
nico
[also one m100 for twice as much, mint condition.]

why did I ever look at these pics before going to sleep?
gonna be some nightmare-night now.
there had to be a law against this type of abuse!
earlier this day, I was shown a m44, trown into a trunk, connected with thinner wires than my doorbel is connected with...
it cried; HELP ME!!!
but the owner was not done yet with his torture, and didn't want to sell it .
I would like to ask phoenix gold for a build-in self-destruction mechanism that is triggered when the amp is abused. THAT brings happy dreams for me tonight.
sleep well my friends!

Reliability maybe one of the reasons why we are all addicted to PG. You could beat it like a "red step child" and it still played like a champ for you.

yep, you're right; bought six ms275's from a guy that had them litterally lying in his shed. bit rusted, a lot of dust on, and in them.
things looked like shit, but after cleaning and testing, they were all 100%.
later, I sold them all, never had any complaints whatsoever about them.
quality that lasts..and lasts.
