I was benching a system the other day:
Treo SX75.4 running PG Tantrum 6.5 CS
Alpine VR-300 (600RMS) bridged to 3x RF P2 10's in a ported box.
Sounded very good to excellent.
I have 2X Klipsch 8" woofs in a sealed box for my test bench. so I connected them bridged (150RMS) to the "other" side of the Treo.
Results were nothing short of outstanding. These 2 8" woofs gave the system that little extra fill in the 100-225 hz range and complimented the RF's seamlessly.
You sound like you are looking to use 8" woofs as your prime LF driver. I suggest they will be adequate, but don't expect them to beat your chest. Perhaps add a 12" or a pair of 10" in the trunk to drive those low notes.

i was actually thinking about a 12 or 15 ( prlly 12 for space reasons ) i just purchased 3 sapphire 12's off ebay. i thought about using one of those, or maybe a new rsdc 12. i can get a ti 15 that id really like to use but im worried about space. id like to lean towards sq but with it bein' a convert spl for loudness reasons may be to my advantage for hearing. so if i run a single woofer ( 12/15) should i still run 4 8's or just run a pair of 8's in the front kicks and still run my 5.25 comps in the doors/pillar pod?? what hz would be a good crossover point from the single woofer to the 8's then from the 8's to the comps?
