Do you have the SPL cone for the Ti Elite? I thought I remember you saying something about it. If so what are your impressions? Just thinking about that option, I like SQ but I'm thinking I want it to get crazy loud. I have (2) Xenon 600.1's for power (~1600 watts).

if you like a monster midbass woofer, then go for it.

If you want a somewhat musical woofer, then look elsewhere..

he has one  thats why he was asking about the different cone.

the SPL cone is basically just lighter, to make it more efficient. at the same time, because it is lighter, it doesn't resonate as low....hence its midbass bias

Tom was making a joke man. Where's you funny... dar?? Sense??

Stick with the 2 Xenon's. I believe 1600 watts will make it scream like fat girl at a buffet.

I was just curious. In my Mustang I will never get that great of SQ (noisy car) But I do want it to be loud and as clean as possible, I am by no means a basshead.

I'm jumping the gun here (w/ ques. about the cone), I just need to get my ass out and start installing my stuff to see what everything will sound like. Trying to manuever that 70lb. box to my trunk is what I'm avoiding.

SPL cone is a giant midbass designed for one thing only...........get loud.

Even if you did go that route you need way more power than 2 X600.1's, that sub just laughed when I threw 2kw at it.

Thanks everyone, I think the general consensus has helped me nix that idea real quick.

do you have them strapped? or one per coil? I had problems with both ways with the x600.1s I had... maybe the used one had issues though, the guy said something to me about hoping it works strapped when he sold me the used one... I have it now pushing my single 10" and it seems ok... wouldn't notice a problem actually...

yeah, he has an spl cone, I don't think he's even used it though, he really isn't a midbass kinda guy... he should look at my vid 30hz bumps pretty hard for a single 10" on a xenon 600.1 :D

I think I'm gonna stay away from the SPL cone. I seen your video, I'm jealous. I figure with the power I am putting on the sub (1) to each coil, it should be loud enough for me.

yeah i have one and yeah i aint used it. its more for bragging rights.

yeah i can say "i have something you dont"

btw specing out on the box program its not gonna be a very nice sounding speaker at all. hence the spl cone

so avic you need to just put that damn elite in 2.75 ported tuned at about
30 and it will blow your sox off.

you will get low and loud.

just do it.

I would consider it, but I am not experienced enough to build a box like that. Second for that "fat bastard" no one around here would be able to build one either.

I know, I know shit or get off the pot. Trust me it will be in SOON!

How do you tune a box to a specific fequency? I know many people do it but I have never heard exactly how it was done.

hey avic
its not any differnt then building a sealed box.

your only making it bigger and adding a port.

to keep it simple i would build it and use a aero port(4 inch)

you will love it. if you can go two 3 inch aero ports they will be longer but will have more port area. if you need advise
hit me up.

you need to know how much actuall volume you have, what frequency,
the size of the port you wanna use.

i find it easier to design with the volume i need then pick the freq and
what port size i want..then add the port displacement with braces and woofer.

this way im pretty on target with the results.

you will need a speaker box program to figure out the tuning unless your
really sharp with math and u can do it manually.

if you need a box program to just get you started
then down load

winisd from linearteam.com

get you in the right direction.

hope that helps

i had a spl cone and played with 2 x xenon1200.1 on it and it played like hell  and did anyone see that coil of it
i liked how it sounded but the surround is broken now,the surround of the spl cone is made for spl only and a few burbs and i think 2 x600.1 would be not enough for extreme spl
i was thinking of a crossfire vf4000 ,4000 watt´s on it, i think that that would play 8)
now i got a mo bass cone, surround looks better only it has three coils and i got only 2 x1200.1,is there a way for strapping my two x1200.1?

Agree with Brenz. Ported box is no different than a sealed. If you are handy with wood, make a slot port. If you're like me and suck harder than Richard Simmons (speaking of, where's Brett been lately?), then it's as simple as adding a second 4" hole to the box that you just cut a 12" hole into. You can go to a hardware store, buy plumbing pipe, and glue it in the box. It's really that simple. You can even use bends!

I played my Elite sealed, and it sounded great, but I heard it ported... holy jesus. It sounded like three subs.

@stipud:what ported box did you made, can you give some info?
you guy´s say that the elite needs a box of 2,75 cuft but what is the freq range then?does it play´s only around 26 hz ?
need a box that play´s every bassnote the same volume from 26hz to 50/60 hz would a 2,75 box not to big for it?
have now a box of 2,11 ft3 and 1 aeroport of 4 inch but it play´s not every bassnote from 30hz to 60hz good it is alway´s the lower notes or the mid´s hard when i change my vent
