rsd6.5 coaxials on 35x4 rms?

i know alot of you guys could never really be happy with anything but component speakers run off of external amplification... but i've never ran anything better than cheap pioneer 6.5 coax's off a good head unit and was sitisfied with that. so im wondering if you'd think that i'd be making a good upgrade to go with the rsd6.5 coax's on 35 rms each. the h/u im looking at is the jvs kd-ar8500...7 way parametric/ 9 way graphic eq, 5v out (prolly not, but i'll be using a line driver anyway), sd reader, ipod, aux, and "cea rated" 35x4 rms digital hybrid amp. Was just wondering if this is as good of an upgrade from what i'm used to as i think?.. or do I REALLY need to go with comps and another amp to actually notice a difference?
(i'll still have the tweets in the window corners working)

I used to run Pioneer coaxes
The RSDs should sound better... but it will be nowhere near a properly amped and deadened component set.
Amping doesn't make things "louder" than a headunit per se, because headunit amps love to play a dirty harsh clipped signal, which makes it "sound" loud. Most people are okay with that, but once you get the amp on there, your higher volumes will sound even more clear than your lower volumes. And that's where the magic happens... then you start spending thousands on amps and component sets to get everything PERFECT

Yea, what he said^^^^^
My son's car came with qty 4 Sony co-axials (40 RMS, 100 Peak) running off the Alpine HU amp (35 RMS per). We wired up his car and now have a ZX475 powering the Sonys. Night and day difference. The Sonys are now getting an uber clean signal as compared to the HU. Then we added a ZX400 bridged to a pair of Pyle Imperials 12" subs sealed and the whole car woke up. HU amps suck.
The amps are idling as far as capability goes, but he is on a teenager's budget, so drivers will be replaced as the bank account goes.
I also understand that RSd 6.5C enjoy at least 100 watts RMS to have their potential fully realized. Comments from experienced users???

I'm running my RSD6.5's active with 75 watts each tweet and mid and they sound phenomenal. Tweeters are a bit bright with that setup though.

definately ext. amps. i used to have a 240sx with boston acoustics 4x6's in all four corners and a little qx100.2 with 25rms a piece and they sang really well.. i believe better than any h/u would make 'em sound.. even if the h/u is rated better..
