loud crackle and popping comming from left side

I found a new problem after 2 days of things going well. Today, while listening on low volume the left rear speaker started to pop and crackle (intermittently). I stopped turned off the car and removed the rca for that side. As I started down the road it came back without the RCA connected. Now the speaker is blown but I didn't like em anyway (don't need rears). I had to disconnect the speaker output wires to get it to stop.

Now, after a couple of hours of straight listen on med volume the left front started to do them same. I did run new wires, so at first I thought it could be some sort of exposed (-) speaker wire. But now that the crackle has moved to another channel I think it's the amp. I have a backup T600.4 that I might try.

I think the Morels survived the episode(I hope).

Any thoughts, keep in mind that it's not always there. It will sound fine then just start going crazy the pop and crackle.

What amp is this?

You might try giving the crossover pots a wiggling. Sometimes they oxidize and can cause noise. Also check for loose traces at your speaker terminals, and make sure your speaker wires aren't intermittently shorting out anywhere.

The amp is the Tantrum 600.4, I have 2 of them, but only one installed. I am using a T500.2 for the RSDC. Yeah, my fear is something is shorting out. but it seems strange to happen on the rear left channel and the left front channel. And it's not a subtle snap and crackle. It's like full volume gonna come apart pop and crackle.

appreciate the help!
