WOW!! That bad boy thermaled more than once. Do you have the screws that mount the case down? Nice find for $15.

Makes me really want to change the caps in my new M50/M25 before they see any real service (if they ever do!).

I have 0/ZERO screws, save but 1. In the 7th pic down you can see it. I saw on here or ebay screws for sale. I'll be hunting them down now. If not a call to Phils replacement will be in order.

original ones are 2200uf 105c 16v but you can fitter higher uf ones in a similar size case, the m50 only had 3 caps, if you choose shorter caps you can fit 4 in there.
it's strange how i've only ever seen blown m50's and not m25,m44 and m100

3 caps!??

Really? There's a spot on the board for four. I just thought that the first one had already been removed.
I know they can get more capacitance in the same size now so I was just wondering what the uf was now for the same size. Thanks marko.
How about the bigger two on the output side? If I'm doing the input side, I'm gonna do the output side too.

yes 3!! think pg made a boo boo there when they thought they could fit 4 on the board then tried to fit the top cover on

of course if you use a shorter cap you can fit 4 under the cover comfortably, 5600uf or een 6800uf is pretty common in the same size cap these days. as for rail caps i dunno, i'm still looking for a decent replacement for my m100 ones...

Thanks Marko.
I'm going to our local store tomorrow to see about getting them there caps.
I tested the board where the caps came from. Both contacts where the caps posts terminate to the board all tested good, so that's a plus.
Now just to clean it up. Any idea what will get that black crap off of the cover????
