2 TI12D Elites vs. 2 JL 13w7s

So I'm just wondering what your opinions are on this...
2 TI12D Elites or 2 JL 13W7s.
I was thinking about getting the JLs, but got a good deal on the TI12Ds. Not installed yet, but going to shoot 2500w (1250x2) RMS to them with a Cadence Daytona 2500.1.
Curious to know if anyone heard the both of them. Personally, I've heard the 13w7 before, but never the TI12D.
Let me know what you think.

What are your goals? Obviously you can get the elites much cheaper, due to jls rediculous markup, but both are good subs. If you are shooting at trying to get loud, the jls have a pretty substantial advantage with cone area, but both are loud enough for most people.

I was looking to see what people thought was the best overall setup - best balance of SQ/SPL.
One 13w7 cost exactly as much as 2 TI12D Elites, so I can also look at it that way, but then the comparison would be unfair.

Since you have the Elites already, you may as well keep em! The Elite 12 is a bottom end monster, with gobs of displacement that puts it in the same class as the JLs.
Also, where JL pushed their engineering into 8, 10, 12, and 13" versions, PG put all of their engineering into the single 12". So you know it's gotta sound good! If you are doing any SPL competition, the Elite cones are field replaceable (quite easily I might add).

I voted PG. As the W7 has a ton of engineering in it and is a very well done driver that few models can touch (price not with standing), I do not like its mounting requirements and the slight 'wooshing' sound I have heard on a few W7 installs, but still their sound and output is very very good. Then the price is a second negative for me. For SSA, one of our goals with our 2nd series of drivers is to attract the people who want W7 like or better performance but don't want to pay W7 money. So it says a lot when you see other companies going after the W7.[/b]

Better yet since two Ti12dElites cost as much as one JL13W7. You should change to poll from 2 TI12D Elites vs. 2 JL 13w7s to 4 TI12D Elites vs. 2 JL 13w7s

^^X2^^
I have on more than one occasian beat JLW7's in the SPL lanes with subs less then half the price of the JL's. And while not a bad SQ sub, for the price of the JL, one could have a Morel Ultimo sub.
And to top it off, if you own a W7, you can't even take it out of the enclosure without voiding the warranty! Unless of coarse you are a factory trained installer

TREO SSX > JLw7
Money wise the TREO is cheaper, but other then that they're damn near the same as far as SQ and such goes. Though the SSX can handle more power then the 13W7.

I've always liked JL's woofer design. The basic looks of the v1's are my fav's though. I have 2 12w0's that I ran with an M50 that pounded hard and the 2 15w6's were just monster on the M100. I like the v2's but not as much as the PG woofers.
Another thought......... Sell the 2 TI's and buy 4 RSDc's.......

I vote for the Ti's of course.

You can always buy the W7 clone.

Yeeeah! Those things get rowdy on little power. With 1250 a pop, they should absolutely slam. You could run 4 subs on that power quite nicely as well.
Mike, you should check out the RSD comps as well. Flogger likes them more than the Treos too

I plan on getting one for my wifes car at some point.
Something simple for her. An Eclipse CD8443 powering a set of RSD6c in the front (HU power for now) and a LANZAR Opti150 powering a PG XMAX 10 (until I get the RSDC10).
Got to get her a new car first. The last one cracked a block.

I just checked out the RSDc specs, and 4 122s would actually go down to 1 OHM and have about 625w/sub. Although a 4 12" sub setup does sound sweet, I think I'll go with 2 TI12d's just to be unique (I think these subs look so sexy and are really rare now a days).
Would the 4 RSDc's actually sound as sweet as the 2 TI12d's (hit the low notes that well)?
BTW - the voting was 4-2 for JL, but ever since I wrote that 2 TI12Ds = 1 JLw7, I think everyone's voted for the TI12Ds, lol. Just a reminder, this is not about price, just a straight up 1-1 comparison of which subs you would pick if you won them (free) (not saying that I'm winning them or willing to pay for the JL's crazy price when I got the PGs).

Sexy indeed. But I prefer 4.

That's insane!
1. Where you gonna put them? You need to have them in an SUV or van. Def can't put them in my maxima.
2. How you gonna power them? You gonna need some powerful amp(s) for this.
3. How you gonna power your amp(s)? You gonna need like 2 alternators and/or a couple of batteries for that power.
4. How you gonna fix your ears once they go pop? Lol, I'm scared as hell to put these 2 in my car cause I'ma go deaf in a couple of weeks.

That is beast! I wish I had about 1/2 that room to play around with in my Scion. As it is with 2 12" subs and an amp rack, it gives the car an instant 2" lowering kit.

Wow that's scarry, I hope thats a ported box.
I would suggest 2 of the biggest amp u can afford that will match the subs. That will be loud! Again if it's ported right that will be the loudest shit in your hood!! Easy 150+ db! Maybee even sealed!

HEY HEY, I never said that!!! I did say the RSDc 10's sound so good it wasnt worth looking at other subs. I would LOVE to compare the RSDc's against the Treo SSi's and the Polk Audio SR's 10's... But bang for the buck, I had two new RSDc 10" 4 ohm DVC's to my door for $230 (off the bay), basically a two for one deal (or better!) compared to the Polks or Treo's. Also I absolutely LOVE the small enclosure requirements on the PG's!
