Finding mid bass for 2 10" Xenons
Finding mid bass for 2 10" Xenons
So my plan is to run a front sound stage and 2 10" Xenon X10D4 with a Hifonics BX1000 at 1ohm
I have heard these subs do amazing with low bass but mid bass is boomy.
Would Diamond Audio HEX s500s, which is good down to 58hz, fill in the notes? If I set the lowpass xover for the subs at 60 or 70?
Oh and yes Im new here so hi, my name is Mike, my bro got me into Phoenix Gold, he used to have a Cyclone in his Avenger

You know what, I was reading this http://phoenixphorum.com/mids-vt673.html
And these subs seem like too much hassle, Im just gonna get a 12"RSD

x600.1=more then 800 wattsCapital_M wrote:Yes but I cant run 800 watts becuase I dont have the cash right now to upgrade my electrical system, maybe in the future. I will also be running a 300 watt 2 channel amp
Im thinking of running 1 12 off a x600.1 or 2 12s off a x600.1
Unless I keep myself from playing it so loud that everything dims

600 is what it is rated at on the box.....>800 is what most are actually producing at 4ohms.Capital_M wrote:bdubs767 wrote:

what car is it going into?
i would just stick with a single 12. that way it will have plenty of headroom, instead of providing the minimum rms to a pair of them.
plus they like a fairly large box, so a single 12 would save you some space.

Its a grand prix, so large trunk, but 1 woofer in a 1.8 sealed with a x600.1 would be good? Im not gonna destroy the speaker on xmax will I?
Also I wanted to do ported to get it louder, but this will be very loud? correct?

1.8 is actually perfect for that sub, 1.2 is the marketing number they gave out because retailers and consumers like to see smaller boxes.
it all depends how loud you want it. you could probably gain ~6db with a ported sq-ish box (tuned to <35hz)
the 135 number above (off a 600.1 in a 1.8 sealed box) has been re-created in at least 3 different cars on this board. if thats enough, stay sealed, if not, port that sucka

135 is "give my 17 year old brother irregular heart beats for 1/2 hour after sitting in my car" loud <---true story. he liked it so much i set one up in his maxima

(scroll about 1/2 way down to where it starts comparing different db levels)
the xenon amps have one of the best in-amp crossovers out there, so you might as well make use of it. i would set both the lp crossover and sub sonic filter at 14 clicks.
that should give you a LP of 68hz and a subsonic of ~20hz

well there are two meanings for the word...one has to do with a woofer's design but the one referenced here deals with woofer excursion.
To put it simply the the farther out the cone of the woofer can move the more air it can move. The more air you move the louder it is. This is known as XMAX which is usually measured out in mm.

Has anyone tested an RSd600.1 against X600.1 with an RSd 12?
