Hey Guys - I just got my 1200.1 back from PG today and there was a part number they replaced that I'm not familiar with. It's part U102. Just wondering if anyone out there might have an idea what that is, just so I can keep track of what's been replaced on the amp. Thanks!
Did some digging around online last night and couldn't come up with anything. Does U102 refer to a position on the circuit board maybe? I know...I've got way too much free time on my hands. Would be nice to know what exactly was repaired. I know when I called PG, they were saying how "U102 was replaced, part cost was $53.00, etc..."
And for that, I'm seriously grateful. I was thinking after sending it in and getting a general consensus here of what might've been wrong with it, I'd have a really stylish looking doorstop on my hands.
Lower damping is a small part of the issue. Since you are running the amp below its rated impedance, you will be stressing it. I would expect to see much lower THD as well (not that that really matters on a subwoofer). Having a fan cool it may be a good idea.
