hello everyone,
i have never owned any products from phoenix gold but i found something i might be satisfied with but wanted to run it through you guys first.
i have a 94 lincoln continental and it's my daily driver. don't know how long i'm going to keep the car that's why i don't want to pour a ton into the system. the only thing in it is the headunit, stock "premium"

6.5s and 6x9s. i had two 10" polks but i had to get rid of them.
still in high school but love car audio. i stumbled across the ryval line and was in awe. i HATE the styling but for the price and efficiency of the products, it seems like they can't be beat.
so this is what i plan on installing:
ryval 6.5 2ways in the front
ryval 6x9 2 ways in the back
autotek sm4-800 to power the speakers(already have)
1 ryval v12s 12" sub
ryval v752 to power the sub bridged at 250rms @ 4ohms
sealed box ~1.2ft^3
the amp, sub and box come in a package from sonic electronix for $140.
do you feel this is a balanced setup?
any suggestions?
thanks!
logan

That sounds like a good start.. You really cant beat the dollar per watt the ryvals give you... Btw, I think you will like the ryval speakers. I have played with the 6*9s a while back, and they were very nice.. Very nice punch.

sounds like a good start; i agree with the ryval, at their price point, yer probably not gonna beat 'em, however, ive never had any experience with them-

You might look at the Exile Shift line as well.

thanks for your input guys,
the exile shift line looks great, styling gets an a. thanks for the suggestion audiophiliac.
but are we talking the same price point for the exiles?
and my nearest dealer is an hour away in DC.
also, i haven't found an internet dealer for them.
i don't really want to buy from ebay or random sites cause i want to knock this install out in one swoop
any other install suggestions, i mean i have a huuuge trunk. i barely use it too, so making an amp rack and a spot to mount the cap would be cool with some embossed logos, i'd love to do the lincoln logo.
the trunk is gray carpet but i was thinking about covering everything in the trunk with that fake gray suede, or something funky like green/tan plaid flannel?
the outside of the car is emerald green and the interior is tan leather.
i can post pictures if you need.
let me know what y'all think.

Ya might look at the ryval 1502 to power the sub. I'd also say you might be happier with the PG RSd124. Not too much more $$ and an awesome upgrade sub.

i'd like the 1502 but i'm only running one sub so i don't need 500w at 4ohms bridged. and for the Rsd, i would love to use that sub but check out this nice package from sonic electronix.

does anyone own a ryval sub?
if so, what' your opinion on it?
punchy or boomy?

i don't own one but have done quite a bit of listening on it.
its a bit of both. the 50hz+ region is very accurate and punchy. but it has a pretty sharp roll off after that and if you try and make it play 30-40hz notes it gets boomy sounding.

what do you prefer?

Components all day.....
Th RSD coax aren't bad though. I run a set of 6" in my DD civic.

ok. i think i'm going to go the component route.
i recently had to buy news tires for my car so audio has been on hold and it's killing me.
i've just been sitting on the internet dreaming about the pg that's going to be in my car.
i have been looking at both the ryvals and the rsds and man, the rsds are much more badass. and i think i'm gonna wait on the sub and get an rsd(or two) later and make my own enclosure for it.
