HI All, i am now the proud owner of a Phoenix Golf Cyclone Subwoofer and was wondering if anyone had run one with An AudioControl Epicenter, or am i gonna get problems?? I also remember that the Velodyne subs wudnt work properly with amps with subsonic filters, the cyclone doesnt have the same problems??
Also if anyone wants to sell me another Cyclone id be happy to take it off their hands
Cheers all

In theory the Epicenter should work great with the Cyclone. There isn't a whole lot of music out there that extends as deep in frequency response as the Cyclone itself. I would give it a shot if I were you. Be very careful to ensure that you're not overdriving the Cyclone and you should be fine to experiment.

KK, cheers for reply, shud be very interestin! I have a Genny Monoblock which is 400@4ohm so @8ohm im gonna be halving it again, so approx 200watts goin into the Cyclone.
New question if im using my Epicentre it has a built in Subsonic filter which is 33hz, i believe the subsonic filter will remove all sounds that are below 33hz, but to get the best out my Cyclone id need it far lower then 33hz, does anybody know if it would be ok to remove the filter all together or do i have to create one (i have seen a thread showing how to create the filters so will try that if required)

Also the cyclone can handle more than 300 watts....just be careful....listen to it....and play with it till you get it to where you want it.
I ran a Ti 1200.1 on it....sounded nice...gain half way...

Not 100% certain how the filter is set up, but IIRC the filters are similar to the PG RNET's so yes you will need a blank in place. you should be able to pick up the blanks at a local electronics hobby store, then solder wires across instead of resistors. I would double check with audio control first, they may take a minimal resistance.

i agree with wakeup, any speaker can handle any amount of wattage, unitll you distort it, thats when u end up with issues, bet it was saweeeet on that ti mono amp, did u have it wired to see 4 or 2 ohm wakeup?

wakeup, how do they sound, and what type of music do you listen to?, and, how do you have them wired-ohm load?

There an 8-Ohm driver so id pressume he'd run two of them at 4ohm. As for sound, shud have an answer by the end of the weekend, i jus have to make a new subsonic to get the most of the sub then its time to play

))
Ohh happy days!

Looks similar to my brothers box in his old car, except his was bigger and has crazy lights and shit inside.
His cyclone broke thou, shipped it out and got a new one from phoenix gold. Cost him like $1500 back in the day. Still stilling brand new in the box in his room. As well as two Bandits.
I really wanna buy the cyclone off him when i get a new car.
