Pro Line Driver + TiDEQ + ZPA= ?

Ok, so I have a stange question of how to hook the TiDEQ up. My dad got one of these for his install, but he has a DRX9255 which is 8 volt output, so, we read that the TiDEQ will be a nice boat anchor with that much input voltage... :x

So, using ZPAs in another car, could I hook the TiDEQ up to a 4 volt source unit, and then put the PLD AFTER the TiDEQ to bump the voltage going into say a crossover or something so the amps will see 8 volts? Does this make sense at all, or am I overthinking the idea and trying to make something work that won't...?

Yes, you can do that. The only reson people say to have the PLD ahead of everything is so that you can get it as close to the source as possible, creating a short path for interference to enter. I did have a PLD ahead of my DEQ, but went easy on the gain, per Tad's request.

yea i read that before from your trials... the problem is the ZPAs want 8 volts for full power out of em, so I thought installing the PLD after the eq would be safe and effective... :?

If you choose to do a external x-over, depending on which you choose you may not need the line driver going into the ZPA's. The PG MX3i will give you 8volt out. There are a couple for sale in the classified forum.

But yes you are thinking correctly. That EQ won't like a big input signal and you'll want to boost it after the EQ going into ZPA's.

awesome, can a AX406 turn the input voltage up or down as well? if so, how would one measure this?
