Damping factor PG amps

Does someone know the damping factor of the PG amps?
I'm basicly intrested in the damping factor of the zx600ti and 800.1 ti

Nope... PG answered this awhile ago and said that the damping factor was always "good enough". As in, it's always at a level where you wouldn't be able to hear the difference if it was any higher.

Personally I think the damping factor issue has come out as a marketing gimmick for certain brands (mostly Zapco). While it is important, to a point, it certainly isn't the be-all-end-all statistic in determining a quality amplifier.

Any high-current amplifier will have good damping: since speakers rely on a coil floating in a magnetic field they need CURRENT to be well damped. Those amps are typically built with Bipolar Junction Transistors, which are current devices, rather than MOSFETs, which are voltage devices... though high current MOSFET setups are also possible.

Since PG and Zapco both use triple darlington BJT outputs, current and damping should not be an issue. Triple darlington uses an array of high current transistors to ramp up the voltage... instead of a single cheap low current high voltage MOSFET. Fast switching high current amplifiers with good design principles (i.e. sufficient capacitance, thick board traces, etc) will always sound better IMO than the cheaper MOSFET amps.
