Hey guys, I need your input on impedances, dampening and bi amping in my upcoming install. I have a P9 deck with 4 preouts that I will be running high/mid/low/sub. I have 2 pairs of ti6 comps and a pair of ti9s. I need to time align as I don’t have the ability to install everything on the same plane. That means I have to discard my crossovers and go active and that brings me to bi-amping. I’m planning on running my 600.2s on the mids 4ohm stereo but I don’t know what amps to buy for the tweets. I’m not even sure I want to run 2 sets of tweets. I could buy a ti400.2 per side but that’s gonna cost about $600 so I was thinking of running them at 2ohms stereo but then I’d lose dampening on my highs. If I did a ti500.4 the I’d be down to 75 watts on the tweets and 150 on the mids which I don’t think will be a good ratio. Do you think I can get away with one set of tweets on a ti600.2? that would put me at 300watts high, 600 watts mid and 500watts low. The sensitivity on the tweeter is going to be higher then that of the mids and lows of course so that will make up for some of the difference in power, but I don’t know the exact sensitivity to do the math. I think the elite comps use the Morel MT 23 tweet which has a sensitivity of 91 but I’m not sure. Any ideas?
I would use the 500.4 for all mids and tweets, which ever config you go with. Then the 600.2 for the 9's and of coarse the subs. Usefulness of the time alignment will depend on speaker placement. Will both mids be next to each other? In a kick or something? Where do you plan on putting the tweets? As for output level and sensitivity ratings, I wouldn't be too concerned. You'll have plenty of adjustment capabilities!

I think I lost you somewhere in there. My 500.4 is not enough power for both sets of components and the 600.2s are not enough power for the 9s and subs. I will be using one 600.2 per pair of mids and my 500.4 on my 9s. The 1200.1s are for my subs. I don't know what to do for the tweets. See my sig for the list of equipment available to me.
I did a lot of experimenting with this and this is what I got:
The mids sound great around 200 watts, so I would def put a 600.2 per set of mids. The tweets sound great at 100 watts, so 75 watts would not be much worse, so I would go with the TI500.4 on the tweets. 75w on tweets and 150w on mids will sound balanced imo.
I would in no way run the tweets in 2 ohm mode... they really sound like crap.
As for the TI9s, I tried running a TI400.2 per 9 (400 watts/speaker), and they seem to start bottoming out because my door isn't sealed. I am currently pushing 350w to them and they sound awesome. Since you don't have an amp for these yet, I would get something around 350/400 watts x2, depending on how sealed they are. Hate to tell you this, but you're gonna need another amp or two in order to cover everything you got there, especially since you're running active on everything.

okay, I was thinking of using the 500.4 on the tweets and getting another amp for the 9s, but you can do what you showed in your diagram. As for the tweets, if you get a powerful 200~250 watt x 2 amp, you can get away with 2 tweets. They really scream at that power, and not sure if you need all 4 of them. If you want to use all 4, then go with something like 75w x 4 or 100w x 4. If you want to stay in the TI family, I recommend getting another 1 TI500.4 or 2 TI400.2s to fill in that ? box.
