I was looking at the specs on it, and they appear on paper to be able to perform well on the low end Here is the spec link

For the price of 2 for 140, it seems like a steal. I am making the final choice on friday, as that is the day I will buy the new budget sql system. Im thinking 4 of these 15s sealed in 9 cubes. Any thoughts..

I had a 12 inch version, and was very satisfied with it, I love Cerwin Vega speakers since the 90's...
Four of the 15 inch woofers I used in my car for SPL contests in the 90's STILL PLAY!!!
At the moment I'm running a X-max 15 in a closed cabinet on a bridged half of my modded MS1000... it almost reaches out and eats you when watching Jurrassic park
It's my favorite speaker- brand; so I would GO FOR IT at that price!

Low freq performance is dependent on the box and the install more so then the model of sub woofer.

Wouldnt completely agree with that. For instance, the octane line subs had a difficult problem extending low reguardless of the enclosure. In a larger enclosure, they would extened lower, but would sound muddy. I have decided against the cerwin vegas anyways. I am back to my original plan of 2 18s ported. I didnt think I had the volume to fit them, but it turns out after re measuring, that I can fit 10+ cubes ported box.
