I think I had my newly repaired Tantrum 1200.1 in my car for less than 4 weeks, and it totally gave out again. When the stereo turns on, the only sound coming from the subs is what sounds like rumbing white noise. Upon adjusting the Subsonic knob, this raises the volume of said craptastic noise. Well...looks like it's time to finally throw in the towel...
Does PG warranty their repair work?

the funny thing is, thinking back on it, i had a weird feeling something wasn't right. certain days, the subs sounded "better" than others. today while i was driving, they just sounded flabby. then when i got home and went back out again, dead.

geese dako.. I am so sorry to hear that.. I know the feeling and just do not know what to say... Wish I could be of help.. but dont think I can be as far as the technical aspect is concerned.. But just to relate and share w/you I feel your frustration.... I am confident that PG will make things right for you though.. simply expolain to them and I bet they make it real right for you... Just my guess.

Before you give up all hope, just call up PG and explain what happened. Tom had his Amp-T Seven repairs crap out on him and they took care of it.

Yep, PG should have some sort of solution for you. If they can't fix it, they will probably offer you another amp.
I've had way too many troubles with Tripath chips... they just don't seem to take being shipped very well. I've had two fail on me immediately after I got them back! Maybe it was a coincidence, but they seem to be very delicate to me.

dako, i think they warranty it for ,their work, for 90 days?? i know u luv that tantrum, but if u have to buy another amp, maybe consider the rsd 1200.1, ive had 2, 1 i sold to khpower here, but ive had NO ISSUES with it, and it hits hard; just wish u could bypass the 18db/octave internal xover, but i still send 24db/octave@80hz to my 10s and it sounds great, and theres a store on the east coast here called audio savings, they ship it new, free , and usually is here in fla. within 3 days!!!! last 1 i bought from them was like 265-269 shipped- sometimes they are on ebay, but they also have a webaddress,

That stinks. I hope PG can correct the problem. If not move to Xenon's maybe.

They issued me an RMA and UPS label on Wednesday, so we'll see what happens from there on out!! Today i hooked up my spare Tantrum 500.2 in bridged mode to the 2 RSDC 12" subs, and surprisingly, it does a pretty good job of moving them both. I had to fudge the gain setting a little higher than it should be, but even without bass boost on, it still does a decent job.
*prays to the amp gods for a successful and final repair*

Good luck! Hopefully it will be taken care of. I know in the past others have tried to get the tantrum 1200.1's fixed, and PG could not due to the tripath chip having failed. So on that note, they offered Xenon 1200.1's as replacements (this was prior to RSD's...) So they may offer a RSD 1200.1 replacement. I Am not sure, but I think on top of the repair fee that they asked for like 125ish or so for the replacement....
Sooo not sure what they can/will do for your situation. And this story above has not been tested by me...I've just been told that that is what they would do...and my story could slightly vary...
