Well, my old Sony 910 finally crapped out so I think it's time to update my whole garage sounds / test bench setup...

Bought a set of RSd 6.5 separates and want to make them into a tasty set of bookshelf speakers. I figured that I couldn't buy better drivers from PE or Madisound for $71, shipped and I need 4 ohm load for testing amps.

Anyone have a clue how much air the midbass would need? I don't see any T/S parameters published anywhere for a box program to help me out..

I promise a full build log!!

Sorry, I don't have the T/S specs. BUT, if you've got (or can get your hands on) some basic test equipment then why don't you test them yourself??

I've done this in the past with drivers I did'nt know the specs of and was very happy with the results I achieved once the enclosures were built. Sure, it's a bit more mucking around but at the end of the day isn't that what DIY is all about.

Checked out that link... That is some serious mucking about!

I'm going to e-mail PG and see if they have any specs on the woofer before I go down that road.. Heck, if it's that bad I may just build some .75cu' enclosures and if they suck, I'll build some mo' bigger ones!

My dad has a full woodsmith shop, he loves to cut panels for his son!!

Anybody every try that woofer tester from Parts Express?

I have fairly small sealed kick panels for my RSd 6" and they do have quite a decent amount of midbass. If I had to guess... I'd say it's about the same volume as a normal yogurt tub, if even that. Keep in mind the tweeter does not "share" that airspace.

I guess the only way that information helps you is that you can be more or less assured they won't suck in small enclosures.
