I had see one picture a few years ago of a vortex in a plexiglass box. Well I decided to do a google search for it today and I came across this.

Is that a Cyclone motor driving two passive radiators?

Who built it?

Well the vortex is a concept made by the same guy who made the cyclone. PG was going to manufacture them...
There was a flyer of the two...that dont even look anywhere near the cyclone does now and vortex in those pictures...
I am not sure where it is...but it was somewhere here on the forums.

Anyway my info above may verywell be inaccurate....so dont quote me!
Plus my answer is pretty vague anyway! :)

The unit seen in the photo's was a PG prototype. The theory was solid but the implementation left for want.

The way this unit worked was based on a servo but attaching the servo to the cones to move air was where the problem lied as the methods that were tested all had high levels of mechanical noise which made it unusable for audio purpose.

Yeah I have it in my possession. I havent had time to to with it much. I have been meaning to try to get ahold of Tom Danley as I was told he had figured out a way to reduce the mechanical noise and make this more feasable for use. I want to use it with my home theater. Been thinking about letting it go as I dont have the time to fool with it at the moment.
