rsd amp cover removal

Post by thedeal7235 »

ok, so i have 2 rsd amps, almost at a year old, thinking i may remove their covers to make sure caps look good b4 warranty expires, anybody know how to remove them?; from top of amp u can see 2 center screws, but (from looking at them pened on realm of excursion-amp guts) seems there is a way to remove their end caps, looks like screws on underneath, not sure if you unscrew those if it will aid in sliding the said ends off to get to the 4 other top screws-thanx in advance-Christian

thanx guys, as u flip amp over there are some other screws on either end, but it appears if you unscrew those , its like they are the "floor" of the power, ground, speaker inputs/outputs, and gain, sensitivity adjustment- so, i believe the underneath screws to be removed are the ones that run lengthwise before the end caps?!!! ill give it a shot-

yeaph, i figured it out, thanx;u gotta flip the amp and unscrew the 6 length way screws to loosen/unattach the end covers(sort of speak) unhoook the leds , and then u have full access to the center clear see through cover( 6 more screws and bam its open, thanks, i took pics but havent loaded them yet-(curious, do u recall what size the rail caps are on the rsd 1200.1, was shocked to see the 500.4 rail caps are 3300Uf @35volts, not even 50 volts-
