What is reasonable/refund to ask for?I received burnt boards

Some of you have seen my thread about the 2 PG Bandits that I bought. I opened up the internals to find.

-One a had a big hole in it (no cap), a few were also run, smell like eletrical fire and the whole circuit board is discolored from overheating.

-Second has a small hole in it where it burnt through and the cap is gone.

Both were repaired by some before I got them. I have not bench tested them yet and may still operate as an amplifier. I am definately going to replace the first one (Burnt smell, overheated board which mostly like affect the sound quality of the amp). I will have to check the workman ship of the second one.

What is a reasonable request to ask for? I never asked if they caught on fire or for inside pictures.

I paid $565 plus $135 shipping (overseas). They were described as being mint condition. "very rare 2pcs of Phoenix gold Bandit 1895 limited edition. amps is in mint condition" "they are only have a few light scratch and no bends at all. I can say they are mint condition for the age."

Well,
I figure you could buy decent M50's for around $100-$150 here and there. You could also sell the case's to make alittle more back. Maybe call PG and ask what thet'd charge to fix this.

I'd ask for $250

$565

Cost of shipping is worth the cases that you will get out of it.

stick me imma stick you...

We're talking about your money - ya know... I would say all at first... but maybe come down to a 50% resolution.

I asked for $250 back. I will give him a couple days. The seller still has 3 auctions still going, so I probably still have a chance to make a paypal claim.

I agree . Ask for at least half of the money you paid back. If anything isnt as advertised I consider that being cheated. If he is a honest seller and did not know of the internal damage then he sould be more than happy to give a partial refund. Good luck! I am very curious of the pics of the board as well

Yeah it doesn't show in the picture well but on the top one, the gold traces are no longer gold (look more like copper). It's obvious when it next to another old school PG amp.

Oh you little f*ck'r.
my friend was shock when saw your pictures, he was sure those pics is not his amps. the amps I sent you is really in very good condition, the PCB also look like new...
Sorry I will not responsible for anything which is not my fault. I trust my friend so much, he sell too many car audio to me and no one have a problem. the problem could happen in the wrong installation.
Hopefully I can recover something from paypal.

Did you tell him you opened it up first?! I mean the damage shown is clearly old/sitting there condition, and has been repaired right?

Seller: Sorry, I think the buyer is dishonest with the condition. this amps is belongs to my friend I was also check the inside before sell it to ebay, the condition is far away from those pictures below. I always describe the actual condition, you can see my feed back. this is can happen if doing a wrong installation. of course I will not responsible for something I didn't do.
Seller: everything was checked before I sell this item on ebay , the condition is far away from what the buyer describe...

Fuck that shit..........

I'd say fight it. The boards are numbered right? same as the case IIRC. Find the pix off the original listing and see if they show that number.

The original pictures do show a picture of the back but they aren't close up enough to see the serial numbers. If I can get him to send the original pictures to paypal (and if they are large enoguh), I can take a picture of the serial number on the case and use a miror to show the burnt section. I am not going to tell him that though.

So he's suggesting that you burned the boards yourself?

What a cock. Fuck that guy.

Edit: Send PayPal a link to this thread! (I'm kidding... or am I?)
