I just got my Tantrum 1200.1 back after being sent in for the second repair. I hope it's fixed for awhile this time. They replaced the tri-path again (damn, i feel bad...hogging up all the rare tri-paths!!), the output FETs and the sensitivity pot. The last time it was in, only the chip was replaced. I'm going to drop it back in tomorrow and hope for the best. My little Tantrum 500.2 was a damn champ in the interim. I realized it's a good idea to have a backup.
If anyone from PG happens to read this, much respect for standing behind your warranty work and not only covering the shipping back to you, but sending it back to me via UPS 3-DAY SELECT. It was also handled fiercely quick, considering I sent it back smack-dab in the middle of the holiday season. Just another reason I'll remain a die-hard PG fan forever.
Yep, PG always makes good if the fault reoccurs after a repair. I had the same Tripath issue with my Amp Seven T. They shipped it back express, and paid the duty and brokerage fees on it as well.
yeah, they rule!!!! They fixed my zx350, after i had fixed the 8 connection xover board wires(ribbon connection) to main board( when i fixed them, i didnt plan, or think about the wires having heat shrink around them& it looked very unclean, so i desoldered them, to make it look cleaner, well, long story short, the very MICRO plate hole vias came up/out, about 4-5, anyways they said (roland actually) not a problem, they can take care of it, well Alexk called me last week and said its sounding good and ready to roll!!! that was the FIRST pg amp i ever bought back in '96, so it has sentimental value-

Hell yes!!! I just dropped it back in and it sounds killer. It's insane, this thing cranks close to 1500 watts, but doesn't even begin to dim my headlights like the 500.2 was doing...I wish the tri-path technology didn't fade out.
Anyway, hopefully sometime soon I'll be able to drop in my TLD-66 (been avoiding it since I have to remove the center console. etc...) and then I'll be set for awhile. Everything is sounding great once again.
Hopefully one of these days I can make it to Orlando so you can check out my ride. I've been meaning to check out some of the stereo shops over there too, just to see what's around. The only one around here, Stereorama, isn't as good as they used to be, sadly enough.
ur notmissing much here, the old pg dealer is a very cool guy, but has really focused on diamond(think he recently dropped them, ) and has turned his focus to dls( nice sounding amps, listened to one in his jeep, very clean -thats radioative, that im refering to, off west colonial(50)
