Extra battery

In some systems ive seen an extra/seperate car battery in the trunk.
now how does one set that up im just interested in knowing how to do that,

And how does it work?

For a Dual battery set up it is essential you get an isolater like the stinger sr200 and connect the batteries in parallel:

If wire the batteries without an isolator then they will fight for power "only" when the car is "switched off" and eventually one battery will die. I have experiened that myself. I would recommend you use a deep cycle battery like the optima yellowtop.

Yup this is excellent info as I too had a problem with my sr200 a short while ago. It killed my Optima Yellow, but luckily it is a deep cycle and recharged fine. Make sure you wire the isolator to the correct ignition wire :lol: .
