Unfortunately when I bought my IDmax ID had fallen behind demand and I could only get my hands on a D4. The Re of them are actually 3 ohm i believe so I am asking advice on how to wire it to my xenon. I have heard a few people say that the xenons put out more at 4 ohms so. Wire it up to a 6 ohm load and let the amp run easier or down to 1.5 ohm. I would assume the amp would sound better and run easier at 6ohms and the power difference would probably not make that much difference. I just want enough power to make the sub sound good. Im not into spl. I know the max is pretty efficient as I have heard it so OK on 400 watts. Any advice is very appreciated. I am also not above buying a recone and changing the speaker to a D2 if thats whats up. thanks

I think you will be fine at 1.5 ohms.

Well the thing is this. I would rather not have to run 1/0 and 2 4 gauge power wires to the amp. Im sure at 1.5 ohms it would be needed.I have enough 4 gauge to run two from the battery and i figured the xenon would be able to work at 6 ohms pretty well. I remember i asked PG back when i had my x600.1 and wasnt happy with the sound quality i asked them how much power i should expect to lose and they didnt seem to think it would be significant. Come to find out the sound issue i was having was the IDmax VC rubbing when it got closer to xmax. All along i thought the amp was clipping and when i took the sub out later on It was making some mechanical noise at very low power. So i took it apart and Ill be damned if it wasnt ruubed smooth in one spot. ID made it right but i didnt get aorund to it til after i sold my x600.1 and 2 gauge wiring for a hundered dolla bill. Anyway, if I was to run 2 4 gauge wires how would i go about the fuse placement? Thanks stipud

I suppose I could spend the money on 1/0. Im just trying to save some of dese cashdollas

I had much better results wiring the sub at 1 ohm, than 4... Its worth it imo to do it..
