I have been reading how finnicky this MS amp is. It has been in my short list though until ...10 minutes ago. Gotta drive 2.5 hrs for it. Worth it?
Any inputs fellas?

How good is this MS compare to X200.4 (SQ wise)? Anyone has both and compare them side by side?

You've come to the right place....I am sure others will comment for you....Both the X and MS amps are wonderful products...

Both should be similar....(I would imagine...from all the hype and discussions that revolve around older PG vs newer PG gear.)

Wakeup, thanks.

Fully aware of older (seasoned) vs newer PG gears. Could understand why people like this MS amp. Very good built indeed.

Got very good result with X200.4. Just wondering how good MS is from personnel who has both; specially in term of signal issues. You need a lot more goodies with MS lines. Thought ... you want to keep signal short and simple.

No pun though as I am trying to find out myself.

hehe...and as far as the drive to go get it....would also depend on the price that is being asked for it...

Obviously if the price is too high....doesn't matter what amp it is...it may not be worth it at all.

If it's cheap enuff...then again doesn't matter HOW FAR AWAY! hehe...it might be worth it! :)

Looks like a REV. B to me, with the oldstyle volume-pot....GO FOR IT!!.
BUT;...REMEMBER IT NEEDS NEW CAPS.
Most casualty's are made in the MS series by loose strands of copper wire falling inside the amp, AND LEAKING CAPS. :siren:
good luck.
