Bass Control Knob

Hi I'm new to the forums and have a little issue with my amp.
I have a Phoenix Gold ZX500 amp and a bass control knob, however the wires attached to the knob have come loose and been disconnected so I am left with the knob itself and then the phone cord like cable seperately.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the knob so I know which colored cable goes where, or the expertise to be able to help me reconnect the cables?
Thanks in advance
Troy

This is very common, actually. The new LPL44 has a phone (RJ11) jack on the pot now to avoid the situation.

That PDF contains the schematic for the potentiometer. If you have solder skills, it should be easy.

Thanks a lot, I was trying to avoid buying a new one seeing as I had this one here already on a mounting plate!! Now to connect it and wire it all in the car!!
Which brings me to my second question, what type of setup do I need for this thing to actually work?
Thanks

What do you mean by type of setup to make it work?
The LPL (bass knob) effectively attenuates the output of your ZX500. Anything you hook up to the speaker terminals, be it in stereo or mono, will be attenuated when you turn down the LPL. You have to set the crossover mode to LP for this to work however (see manual for details).

I'm gonna sound really stupid here, but I don't have a crossover, should I be able to flick this switch without it affecting anything else?
My setup is really simple, the rear 6x9 cable has been spliced, an RCA convertor attached and then simply plugged into the amp which has a single 10" MTX on it.

The amplifier has a built in crossover.

For your setup you would want
xover select: lp
xover bypass: off
xover freq: ~70-100Hz
Now the LPL will allow you to lower the volume of the amp.
