Power and ground question

Im doing my Dads 1980 corvette and the battery is about less then 3 feet away from the amp (battery is located in truck) so I was wondering since most of the body is fiberglass would it be possible to put the ground back to the battery? even if I made the power wire a bit longer then the ground?

Iv never re attached it back to the battery thats why im asking, iv always attached it to the frame

that will be fine, just make sure your ground wire is the same size or bigger than the power wire

actually, that is electrical superior then most frame grounds.
