Hi,

I've read more and more different opinion about the influence of the interconection cable (line cable) on the sound....

Now I'm too confused  .

Can you suggest me an good cable to connect my DVA-9965 to PG Outlaw & Orion Hcca 250. (3 cable x 5M)

Monster Cable 402 XLN?
Knukonceptz Kristal ?
Cardas? What?
VDH? What?
Chord? What?
furutech? What?

And can anyone suggest me (by pvt if not possible) were can I buy at cheap price, and with International shipping ?

Thanks

honestly, there isn't a big difference in cables as long as they are a shielded twisted pair.

all of the ones you listed fit the bill, and then some.

personally, i don't feel the money spent on the higher end of those is worth it. features like the monster 3 way time correction (which i have in my car now) are just a placebo imho. (I picked em up at a close out sale, I would NEVER spend close to retail on them)

the krystals are very nice and affordable....probably the best performance to dollar out right now.

i also like these A LOT (because i'm a pg whore :) )

as long as the cables you order are a twisted pair with some kind of shielding i think you will be very happy. get the set you find a good deal on.

I run krystal cables as well and have been impressed in the sound. There is alot of snake oil in the cable industry so don't let it fool you. You absolutely do not want the cheapest walmart cable you can find and you absolutely do not need to have crygenically frozen cable to get good sound.

Both these guys have very reasonable responses.

I don't analyze cables so I can't vouch for audiophile snake oil claims one way or another.

My somewhat basic understanding of physics however leads me to believe that most people will be satisfied with normal quality shielded twisted pair cable. Any number of companies will sell basically the same cable so if you know what it looks like, you can easily judge it's quality, finding good photos of course isn't quite as easy.

Use Bflower's  and ttcos advice here. A good well priced cable like PG or Knu will be absolutely sufficient for all but the most anal systems. I would recommend either brand without hesitation.

let me give you an example on each end of the spectrum....

When I built my first system back in HS I ran what ever wire I could find for anything. I had the cheapest $2.99 rca's and some 12 awg power wire that was rigged up, but it played. When I got a little more into it and had some cash I went into the shop and got some nice monster cable rca's(not super nice but good), some 8 awg power wire and all the connectors. I took the time and made it look nice, but didn't touch any of the gains or controls. I thought it sounded better but my buddy hoped in the next morning and asked if I got a new amp?

On the other end of the spectrum I use to work with a guy that claimed to be an "audiophile". I used to consided myself one until meeting this guy but he was a walking contradiction most of the time. He bought wire that was cryogenically frozen to improve performance and cost some huge $$$ per foot(I thought it was over $100/ft) and then was isolated from the floor with some kind of crystal stands... He came in one monday all excited as he had just bought a new DVD player. This was the $3500 auidophile approved model that did everything short of a happy ending. I didn't see the use in investing that much in a dying format, especially when he was still watching it on an 8 yr old, non-hd tv. Me must have agreed as the following weekend he went out and blew a load on a new HD tv. It was a really nice set but I guess not nice enough as he spent $800 on a new power cord for it. I nearly shat myself as I had to ask him how the last 3 ft of power to the set was going to matter after traveling miles on the normal wire but he swore the set looked better after....

In the end I could not talk too much as I knew that he enjoyed his stereo every time that he listened to it or watched it. I think that is the point of audio and I also enjoy my stereo every time I listen to it.

So go into cables with an open mind that they can effect the sound but don't go overboard and you will be fine. It only confuses you if you let it.

The electricity that flows into your home is actually quite "dirty"........I will vouch for this all day long

Yep, and shitty appliances IN the home can be quite noisy. Power isolation/conditioning can be extremely useful... but it's another market with lots of snake oil claims, as well.

Just a FYI-

Ive seen them in the range of $16.00-$20.00

Ive got Knu Karma's and Ive recently decided I want to switch to PG rca's.

I can't see this link

http://www.monstronix.com/arx810-p-2816.html

they give me acess denied

Now my suspect was confirmed, the audio difference from one good cable to another exoteric cable isn't proportional at the price.

Than other little question,

Why I can't see the ARx cable series on PG site?

What the difference btw ARx <> DRx series ?

what did you think about the last 3 pages (ABX test)

http://phoenixphorum.com/download.php?id=863

and see what I've found.

http://bluejeanscable.com/store/audio/index.htm

and

http://zebracables.com/analog.html

what do you think about ?

I've heard nothing but great things about bluejeanscables.

Then again, I'm a firm believer in the cable industry is ripping off consumers. Any shielded RCA's (twisted) will suffice. The PG ones look like an excellent value.

the ARx are a discontinued item but still lots in circulation. you might have to go with a different brand if you cant find the sizes you need.

the drx are for digital applications (not sure what those would be?) they are also a coaxial cable instead of a twisted pair. you will want to avoid these in the car as they induct noise. they basically act as a antenna in your car.

I would just go with the Krystal's unless you want a all PG install

These aren't the 800 series, but they are still very good. I run the same ones and they are nice cables without a hefty price tag:

Too bad they only have two left...

i have done more systems with those then i can even count. great cables.

and the small connectors make them easy to install.

a lot of people dont like the plastic like feeling of the cable. but if you can get past that....they are great

Hum, I don't like it too much.
I want to buy the best 3 cable for my budget (~ 140$)

Yeah I love how those wires are individually shielded as well, instead of merging both into one shield like my Krystals do.

Did you write them and actually ask....they are very lazy at updating their inventory...trust me...massive Knu Konceptz collection going on
