Buyer Beware: Andy4879

Post by money-b »

FYI Ebay user name Andy4879 is up to his SCAMS again.

He left this guy negative and then pulled the ol "send you back a different amp than you sent me trick"

Alpine MRD-F752 5-channel car amplifier - eBay (item 200473376640 end time May-17-10 18:41:40 PDT)

June 17th of this month he did this one to Ebay user ryanjg11

Andy is so nice by asking buyers not to leave him negative feedbacks but look how easy it is for him to ruin someone else's feedback.

I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD GIVE ANDY A TASTE OF HIS OWN MEDICINE AND LEAVE HIM A BUNCH OF NEGATIVES.

I can confirm that andy4879 is back to his old ways! I sold him an alpine MRD-F752 5-channel amplifier in perfect condition. Packaged it well, and shipped it off to him. He told me it was broken upon receiving it (speaker terminals were bent, he claimed) but that there was no box damage--absolutely impossible given how I packaged it and how durable this amp was.

He then was able to con another $25 out of me to pay for it to be shipped back to me. At this time, I took him at face value because I'm a trustworthy guy. I was then contacted by an anonymous former-victim of his, warning me that he has a history of claiming damage, trying to get price concessions from the seller, and then opening claims on eBay/Paypal.

He did in fact ship me back an equivalent product, but I believe he pulled the ol' switcheroo trick... He swapped out my mint amp with his old broken one, and shipped me back the piece of crap.

Chances are you will see my MRD-F752 pop up on one of his auctions in the very near future. In the end, he will probably make $350 off this transaction, with zero invested.

Just warning you guys to avoid him at all costs. He has perfect feedback on eBay under andy4879 (with over 2,000 transactions), but he only uses this account as a "buyer" account and has multiple other accounts for performing his scams. As you might know, buyers no longer can receive negative feedback on eBay and he is exploiting this new loophole.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried contacting Ebay and sending links to his feedback just within this forum?

WHY BUY FROM ME????????

i have been selling on ebay almost 13 years with an average of 300 transactions a year. i always take care of my customers before and after the sale. most sellers do not even want to talk to buyers after the sale but i am here for information, guidance with my 24 years in the car audio industry, and my integrity.

i will always do anything to make the sale go smoothly and if anything ever happens(which is usually doesn't), i will take care of everything! just communicate with me through ebay or my phone number above. if you have any questions before buying, please feel free to ask them by phone or ebay messaging.

Thanks for the heads up, I have noticed andy on ebay. He buys MS 2250s for $550.00 buy it now, and relists them for $3000.00. And he makes up stories about owning them forever, and willing to leave them collecting dust under his bed if he doesn't get what he wants out of them.

I know 2 people that want to kick his ass! He better hope they forget it, but it has been a couple years.. who knows, other than high prices, his old ways might have changed? The old ways are: bait and switch scams, very shitty repair work when told by andy its stock, says its new but really mint used. And the worst for last, you might not get anything at all!!

I wouldnt buy from him EVER!

very good to know......

but when you buy on ebay, and pay with paypal, you have always the option to "make a claim" when the deal is not going like it used to be....

I one time had a seller in the uk who i bought a zpa0.5 on ebay, he didn't ship it !!!!! And didn't respond any messages after payment.....

After i made a claim of non receiving the object, he all of a sudden came into action and said...... "i just got the amp reshipped back to me ???"

And he tought i believed that.... So he had the choice... shipping it to me or just refunding what i paid..... he sended the amp....case closed.....

when buying on ebay, you always buy from a stranger.....please don't pay extremely high prices on there.....

Just note , when you buy off ebay, so just with paypal, and the seller is so bad he sends you a pack with bricks inside in place of the amps,

you cannot refund you're money..... So inform you're self, even buying from a " good " seller... it can always go wrong......

The chance of him doing anything to someone that is coming to his house is much less then with an online sale. With that being said though I would not be surprised if you were to open the amp and find a repair has been done on it even if it was sold as new.

This was just posted at DIYmobile. Thought I'd share it here too. This is a cut/paste off the post made.

"Below are a few confirmed aliases Mr Weiser uses, He has more registered to different addresses in different states including south carolina, Oregon, Michigan and several others. Its a Fact dont bother questioning what im telling you! Its the truth. He is a professional scammer in a league his own. He related to a long time ebay employee who has a major oxycodone habit and who will do anything necessary to get the pills Weiser supplies her. As result she makes it possible for him to do what he does. She deletes and hides all his negative feedback and sides with him in every dispute!. He makes in excess of $450,000 a year just pulling ebay scams. Even those of you who think you got away without loosing need to look closer at your paypal statements!
Dont ask me how I know this stuff because i will not disclose. I cant do anything more then give you the info. Even doing this can cause me a lifetime of hell. If you guys dont want to take my word for it thats fine, Im only going to do this once. If none of you do anything about it thats fine. Just dont cry about him anymore.

We'll look at when that person joined...it wasn't right then to make that post. I don't know if I'd jump to that conclusion. From what I've read this Andy guy has done some straight deals, it's just that he bad ones have gone so bad and when you get screwed someone you tend to be outspoken about how bad it was.

Again, not defending anyone here, just stating the obvious.

Btw, anyone notice that Andy started posting auctions with firearms in the pictures? If you look on diyma right before he started doing that there were questions about why nobody ever did physical harm to him. Lol he obviously reads the threads about him, although it's smart business, know your audience.

He has an ms1000, lets pull the old switcheroo on him with it. I know I know, criminal, we can sell it and give proceeds to charity (not a stripper) to make ourselves feel better for being the bad guy with good intentions... But seriously, it is time for us to put a watermark of some sort on our amps, where it can only be seen with a certain light, in a certain place on the amp. Take a picture of it and never release it online.

I personally feel Andy sells average old amps for a lot of money, though I was happy to get some of those PG volt meters for him before he increased their price...

were better than pulling a switcheroo. its still up there for sale because he is priced too high. he only sells stuff to people for what they are willing to pay. Ive bought stuff off him without any issue. I wont say that I dont believe the stories, but i havnt experienced it. Would I spend $5k on that ms-1k? no, i wouldnt spend that on one in good condition. Im sure if anyone is seriously interested he would work on price. Ive been tempted to test the waters but I dont have the cash at the moment.
