anyone still about

Post by gratest1 »

Looking for a 4or 2 x 2 channel channel PG amp in UK, pre ZX, M, MS ZPA or even XS 4600 or XS 6600. I have a JL HD750 to put toward a trade/swap.

Just a heads up I am about to buy a xenon 200.4. How do these rate against M, ms and zx amps? Anyone with insight would be great. Many tanks in advance

I can't say I ever did an a-b with the xenon line myself. I really don't have much experience with them a the others.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

i poke my head in like once a month!

here's a pretty in depth tech review back in the day from eric/aka DrFosgate: http://www.soundbuggy.com/Eric/Car%20Au ... index.html

they got a bad rap because one of the early runs had massive failure rates due to manufactory error. ive installed dozens. and had a couple major systems using them in a couple of my daily's over the years. they are fantastic. in fact, im hoping to start on a 3 piece 2x 100.2 and 1x 600.1 build on my "new to me" daily soon

only real "advice"

-they like a lot of signal. i try and get them 8v, but i would run at least 5v. get a line driver if needed. they do seem to induce a lot of outside noise if you have to set the sens high to make up for the low input voltage.

-make sure you use both power inputs on the 200.4/1200.1's!

-fans might be loud over the years/might have to swap out.
