RSD or Fi Q???

Post by D00B »

Im going for a SQ setup. Obviously the RSD is going to cost quite a bit less, but does anybody that has experience with both subs know which sounds better?? I listen to alot of trance/techno and some rock. Obviously loudness is also a plus. Thx in advance.

Actually the Q is the sub from Fi that is more SQ oriented.

I know it is...but I was referencing compared to the RSd  ....I have yet to hear the Q but did hear some SI mags (very close from what I understand) and I found the RSds to be much closer to an SQ sub then the SI mag. Mag was more of an SQL woofer, great sub tho IMO.

While I believe the Q will be louder on more power... watt for watt, the RSD is likely the louder of the two. Remember, the RSD is designed for 500 watts, so it is quite efficient at that wattage range (and even below). At 500 watts the Q would be just getting out of bed. If you plan to throw 2000 watts at a speaker, then yes, I do believe the Q would handle that better than the RSD, and at 2000 watts it would be much louder than the RSD at 500.

So really the question should be... how much power do you have?

I doubt it.. The q is much more efficient, I think it would be louder even off 500 watts.
