Anyone else following the Dakar??

Post by andy600rr »

Anyone else following this years Dakar rally??

We get 1/2 hour highlights on a free to air channel over here. Every year I've watched it I'm blown away at just how damn tough it must be.

In my eyes the guys doing it on bikes are all hero's from 1st place to last, they've all got nuts the size of basketballs.

yeah, considering the bikes they are riding are as big as a small car and weigh as much as one too! I do love bikes, though i mainly watch supercross and motocross. Grew up riding dirt bikes here in Oregon. Though I did own a few street bikes as well. I also dig rally too. Those idiot fans standing 10 deep in "GRAVEL" turns while cars "try" to get thru them sideways at 80 mph are insane. That is such a bad situation waiting to happen. I know it rarely happens, but why would you take the risk? At least stand on the inside of the apex.
