lpl

Post by ttocs »

What was the gain on the LPL? was it +12Db?

I am going to be making the lpl and bass cube decals, if anyone is interested let me know.

I know the basscube had the ability to do 18 dB but I was not sure about the lpl. Maybe I should just make it volume dial up to "11 or TOO DAMN LOUD"?

Damnit! I am actually making my own LPL's right now and am purchasing guitar knobs that go to "11". I was hoping it would have been an original idea.

I can make the labels for you.

I also thought about just making it "TOO LOUD!" or something cheesey like that.

I have also been working on putting one of the pg logos on the knobs, I have 4 different styles now.

If you guy want one, pm me and let me know and I can customize it for what ever you want from different ink colors to different vinyl colors, which ever logo you want.

after some research, I have discovered that I might be able to make them into a water transfered decal like you would use on models and such? It would give more of a painted on type of look rather then the vinyl sticker that we are all use to.

If that sounds cool and something that we would want to try I can order a sample pack and see how it goes. I think it would give a much more professional look and not just stuck on afterwards, although would not be as durable....

wonder if we could use it on endcaps and then clearoat, wonder what colors are avialable. :hmm:

That would be cool. The only problem is I seem to only find the knobs in violet.

like said, nix the knob and I will make the decals custom for you with what ever version of the logo you want. I think the water transfer will look 10x better then the sticker personally, it is supposed to look like it is painted on.

The LPL44 is one of my all-time favorite features on Phoenix Gold amplifiers. It may not be the original, but is still relatively unique in the type of control it offers. If I could make my own sticker, I think it would be most fitting to label it in terms of attenuation and not boost. Apparently even PG wasn't slick enough to do it that justice! Like... -20<--->0 or whatever number as long as it is negative, that's the way it SHOULD be! If you wanted to get cutesy you could add a footnote like "Real amps don't need boost!" or something a bit more crude!

The sticker I had accessible here was labeled 0<--->+12, but I swear I've seen different ones before and now you've got me wondering. I should be able to check a few others in the next few days.

Perhaps the M44 is where it came from, isn't this the first amp they were available on ?
