Close to OEM Nickel Plexis

Post by joerg »

After holmis started his game and i discovered what kind of decals he had for prices, i asked if he would sell a few of them to me! He answered that he had some sized 23inches as well. After i took the measurement from my trashed OEM nickel plexi i could´nt believe that this is actually the same size!

Here is what i made from the bare MS1000 plexis from mhyde71 and the decals holmis send me! 8) 8) 8)

are the decals on the outside or underside of plexi's?

I bet holmis could do it either way- but curious as to how these were done?!

Where is holmis/asle anyways- wrote to him a couple days ago about his reactor and havent heard back-

I just ordered some chome vinyl and was thinking about the gold for this as well.

you/he/we can just flip the decal and put it on either side that you would want.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

well if putting it on the underside, then it needs to be printed in mirror with adhesive on the face/metallic/gold area...no? wouldnt it...? i suspect these are placed on the outside/top-side of plexi- but yes perhaps they could be printed in whatever fashion one would like- BUT not sure about having the adhesive on the gold/top side of decal... all i was getting at...

I have used regular vinyl both ways and never had a problem with the adhesive showing. Infact that zero point wiring sign that I made that changes colors is stuck to the underside of the plexi and you can't tell at all.

The decals holmis made up for me are on the upper side of the plexi. You can feel it when touching the plexi. I prefer it that way because decals are a real bitch to put on from the other side. You will see every air bubble.

it takes some practice, but the bubble would show on the top of that with as reflective as it is.

thats kinda what i was getting at... and whether or not we would even want the vinyl decal inside the amp due to temperatures that possibly could be obtained inside the board area....BUT not that an 1/8" plexi will prohibit the heat from coming through 100%...BUT better than nothing i would think/guess... so the top side (IMO) would prolly be the best placement for the vinyl decals ... or maybe i am just over-thinking it- IDK.. BUT then you have the issue of potentially scratching it easier unless you do like in my install and make a secondary plexi cover for protection of amp and plexi...

nice work looks great though
