sorted! the admin on the RF forums showed me how to reset the memory, you have to hold the top left button BEFORE you hook power up then keep holding for 5 seconds

not quite, you hold button 1 in *then* put power to the terminals.

just been playing with it now, quite an impressive bit of kit but i prefere my UCS pro..
