TiBBKF34 wiring suggestions/questions

Post by JayGold »

I'm trying to completely understand the Ti distribution block I purchased as the PG directions aren't clear.

First off, can these still be used with no ground or remote wire (I'm assuming the electronics on them would be inop)?

Second, where do you suggest running a remote wire from as I'm also utilizing a TDD5 in my install and it obviously doesn't make sense to run a remote from that unit to the TiBBKF34 as it would not fire up the TDD5 because power is originating from the distro block itself to the TDD5. Once again I'm assuming I can just use the one coming off my Alpine source and go to the distro block.

Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Actually tapping remote and ground from the DD5 would be perfect. The distro acts as a distribution block with or without the remote/ground connected. Those wires are only hooked up if you want the status LEDs to turn on.

So I would use one of the Auxiliary Outputs (Delay OFF) connectors for the distro block? Do I even run a wire from the distro block to the B+ of the terminal as well?

yes you will need a wire that goes to the battery from the dist block, that is where it gets power for the amps.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

I'm using the Ti distro block to accept a 0/1 AWG power wire from the battery and splitting it into (2) 4 AWG [one per amp] and (1) 8 AWG [the DD5].

I believe you misunderstood...clarification: I'm asking if I need to wire all three connections on the DD5 terminal block (as seen below in the pic) B+, B-, and R to the powered Ti distro block?

Nope, just B- and R. Might as well have a delay on it if you are using any EQs, otherwise there is no point in using a DD5! As I said, the distro block will ALWAYS work, regardless if those wires are hooked up. The R and B- wires will only turn on diagnostic lights, which can definitely afford to be delayed.

Gotcha, thanks.

I will be running a 215ix and TBA1 from the DD5 OFF delays plus the 2 MS amps off the ON delays.

Ah ok in that case you would want to run the remote/ground along with the TBA/215ix. Sorry was confused for a sec there.
